Synthetic detergents have made rapid strides in India during the last decade. Liquid synthetic detergents are a consumable item and are used for cleaning of silk cloth, woolen clothes, utensils, machinery, and floor and in textile industry etc. A detergent is a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants with cleaning properties in dilute solutions.
