Clinical Laboratories

The clinical laboratory of a hospital utilizes samples of fluids or tissues from patients to identify evidence of disease or medical conditions. The space is organized into divisions such as anatomic pathology, clinical chemistry, hematology, genetics, microbiology, phlebotomy, and the blood bank.

A clinical laboratory is a laboratory where tests are done on clinical specimens in order to get information about the health of a patient as pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
