Project Description

A Cotton Gin (short for cotton engine) is a machine that quickly and easily separates the cotton fibers from the seedpods and the sometimes, sticky seeds, a job previously done by hand. These seeds either used again to grow more cotton or, if badly damaged, are disposed of for use in cattle feed production. The cotton ginning sector primarily developed during the 1980s and is one of the most important sectors of the economy. This is a base industry of cotton processing.
