Project Description

Coal tar pitch distillation is a process where coal tar, a by-product of coke production, is heated in distillation towers to separate it into various components based on their boiling points. The outcome of this process is coal tar pitch, a viscous, black, and lustrous material with adhesive and waterproofing properties. It is available in different types, such as medium-soft pitch, soft pitch, and hard pitch. Key components of coal tar pitch include aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic compounds, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. It is widely used in aluminum smelting, roofing, paving, paint manufacturing, and the production of electrodes, refractories, and batteries. It offers high carbon content, strong adhesive properties, excellent sealing capabilities, and resistance to moisture.
