Citric acid is also commonly found in body lotions and soaps. It's sometimes found in hand sanitizers because of its antibacterial characteristics. Citric acid is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries due to its widespread safety, pleasant acid taste, high water solubility, and chelating and buffering capabilities.
